Nothing beats the smell of a warm apple tart baking in the oven. This Honey and Almond Apple Tart is simple, delicious, and ideal for those moments when you crave the comfort of a homemade dessert.

Ingredients:
2–3 apples (2 for caramelising, 1 for topping)
Ready-made puff pastry
100g butter (softened)
100g sugar
100g almond powder
2 eggs
2 tablespoons raw honey (plus extra for topping)
A few almond flakes
A bit of butter for cooking the apples
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Make the Almond Cream
Allow the butter to soften. In a bowl, mix it with the sugar until light and fluffy. Add the almond powder and mix well. Add the eggs one at a time and stir until the mixture is smooth.
Step 2: Prepare the Caramelised Apples
Cut 2 apples into small cubes. In a saucepan, melt a bit of butter and add the apple cubes with 2 tablespoons of raw honey. Cook until softened and slightly caramelised.
Step 3: Assemble the Tart
Roll out your ready-made puff pastry and place it into a baking tray lined with parchment. Use a fork to prick the pastry all over to prevent puffing. Spread the caramelised apples evenly over the base. Pour the almond cream over the apples.
Step 4: Add the Topping
Peel and slice the remaining apple into thin, even slices (about ½ cm). Arrange the slices neatly on top of the cream in overlapping circles. Drizzle with more raw honey and sprinkle with almond flakes.
Step 5: Bake
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 35–40 minutes, or until the almond cream is set and the top is golden brown.
How to Serve
This honey and almond apple tart is delicious warm straight from the oven, but it’s equally lovely cold. For a perfect finish, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Final Tip: This is a great make-ahead dessert for gatherings, and the leftovers (if any!) store well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
